Panda Twinds Debut In China

China has two new Olympic mascots: A pair of giant panda twins born on the second day of the games.

The panda's mother gave birth to the twins after more than 100 days of pregnancy at the panda breeding research center in Chengdu.

To mark their special birthdays, officials named the pair Bei Bei and Huan Huan, after two of the five official Olympic mascots.

Officials said they hoped the birth of the two males will bring good luck to China's Olympic athletes.
